Cincinnati Bell Adds 4G Network and Phone
Cincinnati Bell announced earlier this week that they will be launching their own 4G wireless network. According to their press release, the 4G network will have "speeds that are twice as fast as other national wireless companies* and three times faster than its 4G network." Their speed claim is based on "results of independent field tests conducted in April 2011."
The local carrier will also be introducing a new 4G capable phone, the Huawei Ascend X 4G. The Ascend will come with the Android 2.2 operating system and has a 4.1 touchscreen display. There are front and back cameras (both 5-megapixel) and a 1-gigahertz processor.
Cincinnati Bell is currently offering the Ascend X 4G on a buy-one-get-one offer for $99 (after mail-in rebate) if you sign a two-year equipment agreement and smartphone data plan. They also promised that more 4G capable phones are on their way.
